You don't have to justify yourself
You might be feeling exhausted by:
• masking just to get through the day
• meeting demands & expectations that don't fit
• sensory overload that builds
• anxiety, rumination or shutdown
You might feel burned out and isolated, or used to being minimised or misunderstood.
You don't need a diagnosis or a clear way of explaining things to reach out.
About Me
I'm Duncan Barrett – a late diagnosed autistic person and parent of neurodivergent young people.
I am a therapist with postgraduate training in autism, including a focus on trauma within autistic experience.
I've worked with neurodivergent people in both the charity sector and private practice.
My work is shaped by both training and lived experience.
I know what it's like to feel expected to adapt in ways that don't work.
I also have personal experience with:
• masking & communication fatigue
• monotropism
• shutdowns & meltdowns
• sensory difficulties
• burnout & chronic illness
Qualifications:
Level 5 Counselling Diploma (Humanistic)
Postgraduate Certificate in Autism

How I Work
01
Therapy is not about fixing you. It's about understanding how you work, and finding ways to make life more manageable.
02
Sessions take place online. Camera on or off – your choice.
03
If speaking is difficult, we can use chat functions. Silence is welcome. Direct communication is welcome.
04
You do not have to sit still. Movement, walking, fidgeting, and stimming – all fine.
